Looking for payday loans?
How does one go on ‘Survivor’, get both immunity idols and still get voted off before the last two votes of the season?
Play the entire time like you’ve got the “cat in the bag”. Shoot out all the arrogance that you can muster up and be oblivious the fact that everyone else around you is still playing a game.
I’m not surprised that James went out like he did. I feel he somewhat deserved it, seeing that he didn’t even offer Todd at least of one the idols. This is after Todd without question let James have an idol, and James didn’t even see fit to give a gratitude of thanks.
Two immunity idols, and where as that led him? The fourth member of the jury. Tried and hanged by the remaining members of the game.
::shakes head::
Currently if you view any stats on my blog you will see that the most comments that I’ve had have been geared toward my post in interracial dating (part I). I’ve had more than my share of disagreements with those who have left comments. But let me be clear that I do appreciate the comments, even when they are mean ones. Those make me question my stance sometimes, yet I stand just as firm as the day when I wrote the post.
Here are some things I don’t think people actually took into consideration
1. It’s MY opinion. Supported by my experiences and perception of life as a whole.
2. I’ve never denied not being just a little racist. I’m sure it lies within me somewhere, as I believe it lies within all people.
3. I look at it more as a preference anyways. It’s something I would never engage in and personally do not like to see.
4. You don’t have to agree with me, ever for that matter, but that does not make me desperate, hateful or any other stupid untruthful things folks have said. It just makes me have a different opinion than you. No one is wrong, no one is right.
With that said, if you can’t agree to disagree than that’s fine by me, just know that your comments aren’t swaying me no more than I was trying to sway you to believe as I do.
It’s funny to me how people get upset when others say something contrary to what they believe. It’s not like we’re spitting facts here.
For all of ye who are happy in an interracial relationship “kudos” to you. For those of us who date within our own race and don’t like interracial dating “kudos” to us as well. I just believe to deny the fact that their is more than the simple notion that “love is blind” when it comes to relationships makes me cringe. I do believe that Black men who have Black mothers and choose not to love a Black woman and bestow upon their children a Black mother suffer with some sort of self hatred. Racism is still alive. There lies an unsettling truth about the relationship between Black men and Black women, one that needs to be examined and studied so that we can all better understand ourselves and our roles in strengthening the Black community.
Yes, if you didn’t know it by now I am pro Black. That doesn’t make me anti anything else, just a strong supporter of all things Black. If not me than who to make my people a strong people, a more balanced people. You have to help yourself and your own before you can reach out and help others. We’ve lost that within our community, and I’m not ashamed to say that I want the strong supportive Black community back. I need it, we all do.

When has lying ever gotten you anywhere? And if she was going to lie why come clean now? To clear her conscience I suppose? It’s a shame that one feels it necessary to cheat and lie to gain victory. Ill gotten victory surely can’t have the same “taste” as honest victory. I’m a huge track and field spectator and supporter and it truly hurt my heart to hear that such a star was caught up in some “doping” and enhancing drugs. Illegal activity to just put it out there. Here we have this Black role model, for both our daughters and our sons and now we must explain to them not only about the perils of lying and cheating, but also of how a fall from grace can be quite painful.
Don’t harp on me about being judgmental towards Marion Jones or not being empathetic. I guess I’m so angry because I expect more from Black people. And to see them do exactly what society wants them to do (ultimately fail) then I’m going to be one of their most harsh critics.
I pray that she’s more at ease with her decision and that she makes better choices. She was a role model to a many young athletes.

Every since I started my new job I’ve been exposed to the world/lives of those with autism. One young man in my class has really touched my heart and has made me want to learn all that I can about the mystery of autism and the autistic child.
Though I’ve only worked at this particular place for two months I have done my best to engage myself as much as possible to get a complete understanding of those who face learning disabilities.
Autism is a condition that I think if overlooked by many in our society because it’s one that isn’t easy to understand, which to me is all the more reason we should bring it to the forefront.

I’m not sure this has received much coverage in the media but I did find a piece on CNN.com about the shooting at Delaware State University.
I wasn’t shocked by the headline as much as I was annoyed. I’m trying to figure out exactly why the suggestion of gang activity was even remotely considered. When the student shot up Vtech were there assumptions of “gang-relation” or mob relation then? No. Simply a kid who needed some psychological and medical attention.
Delaware State University is a Black university. And Black folks as we all know are involved in all things gang related. So surely there must have been some “ganstas” enrolled at DSU and that’s why two students where shot. I’m guessing they went with that lead first.

So there is this program for children whose parents make a bit more than enough for them to place their children on medicare, yet still cannot afford private health insurance. A situation that I know my parents where in as I grew up, and how we managed to overcome that I’m not really sure, but I know that a program like this would have been definitely something that would have provided some stress relief.
At issue is the Children’s Health Insurance Program, a state-federal program that subsidizes health coverage for low-income people, mostly children, in families that earn too much to qualify for Medicaid, but not enough to afford private coverage. It expires Sept. 30.
A bipartisan group of lawmakers announced a proposal Friday that would add $35 billion over five years to the program, adding 4 million people to the 6.6 million already participating. It would be financed by raising the federal cigarette tax by 61 cents to $1 per pack.
Notice that it would be funded by raising the cigarette tax from 61 cents to one (1) dollar. I think anyone can attest, non smoker or not that not too many are going to quit smoking just because the price or cigs goes up a few cents.
Heck the price of stamps seems to go up every year but we are still using snail mail.
What Bush says next is the most unsettling thing that I’ve heard in a long while…
But Bush has promised a veto, saying the measure is too costly, unacceptably raises taxes, extends government-covered insurance to children in families who can afford private coverage, and smacks of a move toward completely federalized health care.
“The measure is too costly.”
Since when did providing any type of care for the nations children become “too costly”. When did he suddenly have the notion of how dollar signs works and how some things are more costly than others.
Surely the man who has recently asked for $50 billion dollars (totaling $200 billion in 2008) for the Iraq war isn’t implying that $35 billion plus is too much to spend on our children. Especially on a program designed to medicate and help them.
We’ll spend $50 billion plus to have our children die, but we can’t ask for $35 billion to help keep them alive?
