Currently if you view any stats on my blog you will see that the most comments that I’ve had have been geared toward my post in interracial dating (part I). I’ve had more than my share of disagreements with those who have left comments. But let me be clear that I do appreciate the comments, even when they are mean ones. Those make me question my stance sometimes, yet I stand just as firm as the day when I wrote the post.
Here are some things I don’t think people actually took into consideration
1. It’s MY opinion. Supported by my experiences and perception of life as a whole.
2. I’ve never denied not being just a little racist. I’m sure it lies within me somewhere, as I believe it lies within all people.
3. I look at it more as a preference anyways. It’s something I would never engage in and personally do not like to see.
4. You don’t have to agree with me, ever for that matter, but that does not make me desperate, hateful or any other stupid untruthful things folks have said. It just makes me have a different opinion than you. No one is wrong, no one is right.
With that said, if you can’t agree to disagree than that’s fine by me, just know that your comments aren’t swaying me no more than I was trying to sway you to believe as I do.
It’s funny to me how people get upset when others say something contrary to what they believe. It’s not like we’re spitting facts here.
For all of ye who are happy in an interracial relationship “kudos” to you. For those of us who date within our own race and don’t like interracial dating “kudos” to us as well. I just believe to deny the fact that their is more than the simple notion that “love is blind” when it comes to relationships makes me cringe. I do believe that Black men who have Black mothers and choose not to love a Black woman and bestow upon their children a Black mother suffer with some sort of self hatred. Racism is still alive. There lies an unsettling truth about the relationship between Black men and Black women, one that needs to be examined and studied so that we can all better understand ourselves and our roles in strengthening the Black community.
Yes, if you didn’t know it by now I am pro Black. That doesn’t make me anti anything else, just a strong supporter of all things Black. If not me than who to make my people a strong people, a more balanced people. You have to help yourself and your own before you can reach out and help others. We’ve lost that within our community, and I’m not ashamed to say that I want the strong supportive Black community back. I need it, we all do.

Ok little cousin, you knew i would have an opinion on the subject. i am really surprised that despite all of you education and intelligence you still have so much to learn. First of all , no matter how you try to sugar coat your comments they are very racist. What makes your pro black and different from a skin head pro white. these kind of of statements influence ignorance and force black people to stay confined in the there pro black box. cultural progression is learned the trying of new things unsafe thing, things outside of you little black box. And i see right though your attempt to stay “PC” saying that it is your preference. As a black women how many times have you deemed someone opinion, oh im sorry preference racist. Think about it. Oh and by percentage Black couples are second in frequency of divorce behind Asian women from black men. You might think that that stat reinforces your point but it actually proves the contrary. If you have ever lost your very very very favorite shirt do you just give up looking for it and settle because it wasn’t where you wanted it to be, or do you destroy your house looking for it call a couple of friend and accuse them of taking it without asking. And we are talking about the person you are to vow before God to be with FOREVER. Limitation is something that Black people know to much about, pro black shouldn’t be translate into more limits but into a formula for the progression of black people. So look at your opinions BLACK PEOPLE and ask your self what does your Pro Black mean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You choosing to date who you want (or thinking that it is more beneficial for ‘like’ races to date one another) does not make you racist. As you’ve stated, it’s YOUR opinion and that ONE opinion is not going to change any laws, keep someone from obtaining, kill anyone, hurt anyone (physically or mentally), or interfere with the rights of others.
To be compared to a skin head, one who has a history if inflicting terror on people BECAUSE OF who they are, is a far stretch. I digress….
Whoever we choose to be with needs to be examined as far as that’s concerned…..lol but also, don’t confuse your opinion with being PRO-BLACK. In fact, that very term sounds sooo redundant to me, but nevertheless, I get what you’re trying to say. All things of any race aren’t good, so keep that in mind as well. I hope you are PRO-JESUS first!. HAAAAA
(I’m still trying to figure out the favorite shirt analogy)
The problem with your argument is this: when a white person dates blacks you don’t say that white person hates himself.
If you are in an Interracial relationship don’t let people outside the relationship influence you. Only two people matter, you and the person you are with. If you can handle the stares, comments, and jokes etc., fight for your relationship. You shouldn’t have to go through this, but it is a fact of life, one you will have to deal with for a while.
then you best not be supporting Obama…his mom was white
lol Yep. White mom for sure. Don’t anyone support him if you are anti-interracial dating. But my man and I aren’t voting for either McCain or Obama. And my man is “black” and I am “white”. Quotes used because neither of us really like the terms. Both of us are human. When will you all just get a clue and realize that we are one race – human? That would solve the problem of this “interracial dating” dilemma. Get over it people, it’s the 21st century. Loving vs. the State of Virginia was decided in 1967. Try hating crab grass or something. Now that’s something I could agree to! But this thing about flipping out about the color of somebody’s skin really is ridiculous.
Im a hispanic female and im just here to say that im aware of the stares and the “hatin” of most black women when they see me and my man that is black, but like one of the people commented it will never phase me because , There’s really no one else but me and him in our relationship . I just hope that one day ppl can just let go the “color skin” issue and move past and just see personalitys …… but being real i agree that there’s no hope .
