Muslim Footbaths in college

I’m not a liberal and this doesn’t even remotely bother me.  Too many folks are making a much ado about nothing (notably Debbie Schlussel and Atlas Shrugs: MUSLIM FOOTBATHS: YOUR TAX $ AT WORK!)
Why this topic is even up for debate escapes me. Essentially what’s happening is that the University of Michigan-Dearborn will be installing [...]

DSU Students

Authorities plead for clues in Newark slayings — Newsday.com
It’s so sad to read these types of articles in the paper or hear them on the news.  I’m not sure why they keep stressing “good” children (yes there were) but does it have more of an effect as opposed to them being “bad” children?
Three lives lost [...]

At least your GPA is safe

Over the past few weeks I’ve read at least three reports of “students” faking it on campus, living in the dorm rooms and eating in the school cafeteria.  All unregistered and undocumented at “their” respective universities.
My initial response was “Why not just register for at least one class and be a part-time student, instead of [...]

So I guess that shuts down the Graduate program

As I had stated in an early post, that I don’t care to go searching for, I had intended to start graduate studie at Texas Southern University this coming summer session. (earned my BA from Prairie View A&M University, December 2006).  Doesn’t look that will be happening amid all the terrible, shady things that have [...]

Silence for VT

A nation divided on raw emotions?

As the nation mourns the lives tragically taken at Virginia Tech, campuses across the US struggle to find the balance between overreacting and not reacting at all to students pleas.  In Colorado one student was arrested for allegedly making comments sympathetic to the shooter at Virginia Tech.

A University of Colorado student pleaded not guilty Wednesday [...]

Other school threats

In the wake of the Virginia Tech shooting others schools across the nation have been experiencing numerous threats on campus.
ABC News has the following

School campuses in at least 10 states were locked down or evacuated in the aftermath of a Virginia Tech student’s shooting rampage that killed 33 people.
ABC News: Threats Rattle Schools in 10 [...]

Trying to place blame

Today I cried. I sincerly cried over the lives lost at Virginia Tech.
As I watched “Inside Edition” today it just hit me that, less than six (6) months ago I myself was a collge student, roaming campus freely and living my collegiate life.  Just as those students were, and yet I was able to graduate [...]

Hesitant to post this…

So thoughtless.
Rape Only Hurts If You Fight It
John Petroski
Opinions Editor
Most people today would claim that rape is a terrible crime almost akin to murder but I strongly disagree. Far from a vile act, rape is a magical experience that benefits society as a whole. I realize many of you [...]

College Graduate

It’s official.
I graduated yesterday from Prairie View A&M University with a Bachelors of Arts in Communications from the College of Arts and Sciences. [Why do they put those two together?]
Friends and family came from afar to congradulate me on my huge accomplishment.  Yesterday was filled with mixed emotions.  Stress, excitement, anxiety, happiness, and countless others.  [...]
