Rockets Game and Spring Break

I actually thought last year (06′ ;) would be my last “official” spring break. Turns out I’ve actually chosen the path of education and will be seeing many more “spring breaks”. This week on Tuesday my cousin (Devin 13) and my little brother (Darrien 10) visited me for their spring break. I must [...]

I’m back

It’s been a LONG month.  Not the best way to start of 2007.  But honestly most of my family members in years past have either died at the beginning of a year or at the very end of a year.  Exception would be my maternal great-grandmother, Mable Johnson, she passed in July 2004.  Other than [...]

It just keeps getting worse

My maternal grandmother passed away on Thursday February 22. I spen the entire day at work (substitute) and when I got home I found out after reading condolences via e-mail from family members (on paternal side) and I was totally baffled and confused. R.I.P Lula Albright “Nanny”

My great aunt.
She was my grandmother Mable (1926-2004) older sister. Their brother James Durant died in 2001 I believe or 2002. My grandmother met her demise in 2004, and now “Nanny” in 2007. Their mother passed in 1999 “Memo”.
This is the 4th death in my family in less than a month. An uncle, an uncle’s [...]

Death in the family

There has been a death in my family. Second one in the past three weeks.
First a son, then the mother.
My maternal grandmother’s brother and mother.

My grandfather’s cancer has returned. After being in remission for at least seven years it has returned. But thankfully he caught it in time and only has to take chemo for four days a week for three weeks. Last time it was six days a week for 6 months. So we are very [...]

On the verge of going [Somewhat] “Green”

You know you’re life is boring when the highlight of your day is going with your best friend to the Whole Foods Market downtown.  No seriously, that says a lot about you.
Last night I was more than disappointed that “K”’s sister made it impossible to make it to the Whole Foods Market because of her [...]

Grandmother

How’s paradise?  Missing you tremendously since you left me two years ago.  My life hasn’t been the same. I cried at just the mention of your name for the first few months. And here it is two years later, and I still get teary eyed just thinking of you.  I miss your voice, and your [...]
